Ramen Revolution 2014 X Sochii
[sponsored review]
Ramen, one of the growing dishes in Singapore as we acquired a much more exquisite taste for it over the years. Demand for good Ramen has been high, as people traveled to the land of Ramen aka Japan, and return to Singapore demanding for the same standards.
Ramen Revolution is here, involving 38 ramen stores and YOU. You get to vote for your poison, and stand a chance to win up to $1,000 worth of food voucher!
That aside, I am no ramen fan to be honest(my poison is Udon), but I do appreciate good food. Just a couple years back, I was introduced to my current Ramen favourite.

I was introduced to Ippudo by one of my good friends, Raistlin (rich guy treated me to a meal there when I was poor). It has been one of my to-go places for Ramen, besides the average ramen store at Mediya ( the Udon was much better but it was replaced by ramen).
My boyfriend has a taste for ramen as well, so I've decided to select Ippudo for this Revolution.
Queues are one of the less desirable things when I have to eat,but Ippudo makes the queue worthwhile.
Seated with Locke, who had a hell of a day. Due to the high volume of customers during lunch/dinner hours, do not expect much of a service. The employees there are generally nice and friendly, but they are usually busy so it might take awhile to get their attention.
Food, is served at high speed compared to getting their attention, so you do not have to worry about going hungry for too long after you've placed your order.
Here is why I've chose Ippudo.
Interior
Ippudo has a funky interior, displaying all their ramen bowls which are marked and coloured.
Original Gyoza
This expensive plate of gyoza had my tastebuds from the very first meeting.
Locke: Why did you order the gyoza? Expensive. (It was $9 a plate if i recall, we are prolly used to eating those $3-$6 ones)
Me: Eh, but it is nice.
Locke: Is there something special about it?
Me: Nope, it is just very nice. You will know when you try it.
*After trying*
Me: Found anything special about it?
Locke: Nope, but it is just very nice.
Me: Yea
Conclusion : It is just goddamn nice, just go try it.
Miso Tonkutsu Ramen (RAMEN IS THE MAIN HERE DUH!)
This is one of the rare moments when I am able to finish one whole bowl by myself. It was not due to a smaller portion, because Locke felt satisfied too. The ramen is just plain good.
The broth is flavourful, noodles were not too soggy, side dishes were delish.
There is a huge array of selection from non-spicy to spicy to specials with selectable sides dishes of chashu, flavour egg, seaweed etc. You may download their Menu (without pricing stated) from their official webpage for viewing.
However the downside to the restaurant was the price. This is where we apply the rule "You get what you paid for", the Ramen here is definitely better than your average $8-$15 ramen.

Now if you would excuse me, I am going to go roll around my bed in hunger and agony because I chose to blog this so late into the night T^T.
